Nineties sitcom star, of Martin fame, Thomas Mikal Ford has died.
The 52-year-old was hospitalized in Atlanta on Sunday after an aneurysm ruptured in his stomach.
The actor passed away on Wednesday while surrounded by family and friends, TMZ reports.
According to the website the actor’s family decided to turn off life support on Wednesday after Thomas’ health declined while in hospital.
Ford starred in all five seasons of Martin, which aired from 1992 to 1997 as Tommy Strawn who was Martin Lawrence’s best friend.
People reports that Thomas’ castmates from the nineties hit had flown out to be at the comedic actor’s bedside.
Included in the friends and family was his former onscreen girlfriend Tichina Arnold, who co-starred with him on Martin.
‘She just dropped everything to fly out there. She was supposed to be on a carpet, but this is way more important.
She’s not the only one, the entire Martin cast is getting together to be by his side,’ a friend told People.
Tichina played Pamela James on the show and was a fan favourite alongside Thomas’ character.
Ford had notable roles in For Love or Money and Who Did I Marry? but never achieved the same notoriety as his nineties role on Martin.
