CNN is reporting that the captured Jordanian pilot was burned alive inside a cage by ISIS militants whose demands for a prisoner exchange were not met in time. CAUTION: Graphic images below.
Jordanian pilot Lieutenant Moath al-Kasasba was captured by ISIS rebels when he ejected from a plane that was shot down over Syria last month.
ISIS offered to exchange Moath for an imprisoned female suicide bomber who took part in a terrorist attack in Amman that killed 57 people in 2005. The 46-year-old woman’s suicide bomb failed to detonate during the attack. She was arrested and sentenced to death in Jordan. Earlier today, ISIS released a video that purports to show Moath being burned alive inside a cage.
CNN reports that the U.S. intelligence community is working to authenticate the video. According to a Twitter user, Moath was actually executed on Jan. 3. ISIS also released images of Moath inside the cage as a line of flames approach the cage and consumed his clothes.
CNN reports that Moath was beaten and his clothes doused in flammable liquid. The cage is on a public street.
The video is too graphic to post. But see photos, below;
